Having met Lara and Matt in London through mutual friends Jess and Marc, who’s wedding I shot over in Sydney, I knew travelling out to Sri Lanka to shoot their destination wedding was going to be so special and it truly was an experience I am lucky to have shared with them.

Set within the gorgeous cinnamon plantations of Mirissa Hills. they had planned everything so well to bring all their closest friends and family together to celebrate their marriage. Matt and his closest friends walked in, complete with elephant mascot, to the beating soundtrack of Danger Zone, followed by Lara, wearing an incredible Johanna Johnson dress. Just awesome! They exchanged rings and vows under the warm evening sun, overlooking the hills leading down to Mirissa, followed by beautiful Sri Lankan food, traditional dancing and an epic (but rather hot!) party late in to the night.

I never would have imagined my relatively short career in the industry that I would be invited to travel to a country as beautiful as Sri Lanka to share in such an incredible wedding celebration, with such wonderful people. It just felt so lovely and genuine to be shooting with Lara and Matt, both such amazing people who love and care for each other so much. I am so grateful to them for having me along, congratulations guys! Here is a little peak at their day and my time in Mirissa…
